Among 55 corporate universities in competition, the EDP Group was the only Portuguese company represented

EDP University received a worldwide distinction at the Global Council of Corporate Universities (Global CCU) awards ceremony, which took place in Paris on 5 April. The awards are dedicated to recognising the best corporate universities worldwide.

Among a total of 55 corporate universities, only three European companies received an award, and the EDP Group was the only Portuguese company represented. The Group won its award in the category of “Best Corporate University - Culture and Brand”.

This is the second time that the EDP Group has been recognised in this category, solidifying the role of its corporate university as an essential tool in sharing the company’s culture and its importance in leveraging corporate strategy on career development and knowledge management for the EDP staff.

“More than a global award, which is clearly significant, the award confirms UEDP as a leading benchmark among corporate universities, which makes us very proud,” says António Pita de Abreu, General Director of EDP University.

Founded in 2009, EDP University currently consists of five business schools and two cross-sectoral schools, certified at national and international levels. It has more than 650 resident trainers and is responsible for the annual delivery of about 400 thousand hours of training.

The Global CCU awards recognise corporate universities that are distinguished for their level of excellence and for the creation of strategic value for the corresponding companies, people, and society in general.
