EDP will offer 1000 surf lessons on seven Portuguese beaches this summer. Praia do Castelo, Praia de São Torpes, Praia Grande, Praia de Matosinhos, Praia do CDS on the Costa da Caparica, Praia do Baleal and Praia de Carcavelos are the venues chosen to host this initiative, available to those interested.

Would-be surfers will have a great time as they learn this sport, which is attracting more and more followers. The first lessons will take place next weekend and will continue until the end of August.

To participate simply register at the Spot EDP space (which will be installed on each beach during the weekend of the initiative) and at www.vivaasuaenergia.pt. At the beaches, participants will have access to all the necessary equipment (wetsuit, lycra, board and the lesson will be accompanied by teachers from each beach's surf school. 

The promotion of healthier lifestyles through sport has been among EDP's social investment priorities for more than 20 years and this is the 5th consecutive year that the group has been offering surfing lessons.

Support for this initiative began in 2011. In addition to the lessons to stimulate interest in surfing, EDP supports a range of professional competitions, such as the Cascais Women's Pro, and is also the naming sponsor of EDP Billabong Pro Cascais.
