EDP offers €5 discount on uberGREEN trips to music festivals

Friday 06, July 2018

The discount will be offered to 1,000 EDP Comercial customers when traveling to the NOS Alive, Super Bock Super Rock and EDP Cooljazz music festivals.

In an unprecedented partnership with Uber, EDP will offer a €5 discount on trips to the NOS Alive, Super Bock Super Rock and EDP Cooljazz festivals. This discount will be offered to the first 1,000 EDP Comercial customers who request it at comunidade.edp.pt, starting on July 11.

To receive this offer, EDP Comercial customers must be registered at comunidade.edp.pt and request the discount code. This code must be entered on the Uber app, and it will then grant the user a €5 discount on a UberGREEN trip, Uber's 100% electric mobility option. The destination must be one of the following music festivals: NOS Alive, Super Bock Super Rock, and EDP Cooljazz.

The trips covered by this €5 discount can be made on any festival day from noon to midnight:

NOS Alive - July 12, 13, 14

EDP Cooljazz - July 11, 17, 18, 20, 26, 28, 31

Super Bock Super Rock - July 19, 20, 21

This partnership allows EDP to get closer to its customers, and is also fully in line with EDP's strategy to promote electric mobility.

The EDP Group has been making an increasingly active contribution to sustainable development and decarbonization and has pioneered a number of commitments to promote the electrification of transport. In addition to the ambitious goal of having a 100% electric fleet by 2030, EDP believes that the future of mobility will be electric, shared and autonomous, and is therefore committed to developing new competitive offers and solutions for its customers, both indoors and outdoors.

The company has already installed 8 fast-charging stations for electric vehicles in some of the main roads and cities in Portugal. Also in Portuguese territory, the company signed partnerships with 13 automobile manufacturers and launched a tariff program offering electric car users a 10% discount on nigh-time domestic usage.

In Spain, the company has already installed 13 stations and announced the launch of 48 new stations over the next six months. And in Brazil, EDP has signed a partnership with BMW to build the country's first 'electricity corridor', between São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, which will include six charging stations.

Uber arrived in Portugal in July 2014 and is available in the Metropolitan Areas of Lisbon and Porto, in the Algarve region, in Braga, and now also in Guimarães. In Portuguese cities, Uber offers travel solutions such as uberX (the most economical option), uberGREEN (the world's first 100% electric on-demand travel option) and UberBLACK (the high-end segment, available only in Lisbon). Currently, Uber connects users to drivers in 673 cities across more than 80 countries around the world. For more information about Uber Portugal, visit t.uber.com/sobreauber.

The uberGREEN travel option is part of Uber's global vision to improve urban mobility and environmental quality by using zero CO2-emission vehicles. It is also a step forward to understand the state of the art in electric vehicle technology and the adjustments it must undergo in order to adapt to modern urban mobility. UberGREEN is Uber's 100% electric, carbon-free mobility alternative, available in Lisbon and Porto since March 2016.
