EDP Renováveis SA (EDPR), through its subsidiary EDP Renewables North America LLC (EDPR NA), has secured a 15-year, 139 MW PPA with Facebook to sell the energy produced at Headwaters II, a wind farm located in Rondolph County, Indiana.

The 200 MW wind farm will produce enough clean energy to supply 52,000 homes each year and will also bring economic benefits to the region, such as jobs in the construction and operation of the wind farm and investments in local communities.

This PPA will help Facebook meet its sustainability goal of supporting all of its operations with clean, renewable energy.

This PPA with Facebook has allowed EDP Renováveis to reach, in 2018, its wind power capacity addition target for 2016-2020, thus exceeding the 3.5 GW goal.

EDP Renováveis currently operates 801 MW of wind power projects in Indiana and is set to exceed 1 GW of operational capacity by the end of 2018. EDPR will continue to expand its renewable energy portfolio in this state in the coming years with the addition of two new wind farms, which are expected to be operational in 2020 and 2022.
