If you are not yet a professional in the sport, from the 7th to the 14th of September it will be possible to experience the sensation of surfing the first waves with the help of EDP. In order to support the practice of this sport, EDP will be at Carcavelos beach starting from next week with the “Let's Go” truck, offering surf lessons.

This activity was born with the aim of providing a different experience and a special day to several children from social solidarity institutions who, in addition to surfing classes, will also have the opportunity to have a yoga class and participate in drawing and painting workshops with João Cardoso, better known as Cardoz. The young 24-year-old artist has already seen his work exhibited at the ARCO fair in 2018 and 2019. Since June 2018, he has his own studio, CO-HOP, where it is possible to see his work.

The EDP Surf Experience initiative will also include the offer of surf lessons to the public who also passes by this beach and wants to try the sport. There will be one class per day and registrations can be made on the truck, starting at 1 pm, for the same day or for the following days, depending on the availability and maximum capacity of the classes, which will be limited to 10 participants.

Participants, from 8 to 80 years old, can enjoy a group surf lesson always accompanied by a teacher. For the free surfing lesson, EDP offers the suit, lycra and board, thus giving all interested people the opportunity to enjoy a moment of leisure and the practice of outdoor sport. Due to Covid-19, all measures will be taken so that visitors can participate with complete security. 

This is not an unknown territory for EDP, which has been present in surfing for 10 years offering surf lessons on several beaches in Portugal and supporting various events of this modality. Later this year, EDP will support the Meo Portugal Cup Of Surfing.

The group also sponsors EDP Mar Sem Fim, a pioneer project to discover large, unknown and unexplored waves in Portugal. The initiative identifies places with the potential for big waves, promoting their place as a tourist destination of excellence for surfing.
