Blaya takes infectious dance energy to the EDP Stage in the MEO Sudoeste festiva

Tuesday 01, August 2017

Under the curatorship of the Jazzy dance academy, six dancers on stage, with a percussionist and a DJ, accompanied by the unstoppable Blaya

– EDP, for the 11th consecutive year, will be present at the MEO SW and this year the brand is taking the infectious rhythms of Blaya's dance to the venue.

The EDP Stage will host two different shows per day, with music and dance providing the basis for Blaya and another six dancers to host a party from which nobody is excluded.

During the four nights of the festival there will be two shows that will get everybody dancing:

Blaya will present the “Electra” show, accompanied by six dancers, a percussionist and a DJ. The show is the result of a synergy between the four most contemporary urban dance styles - kuduro, afro beat, dancehall and Brazilian funk - that promotes interaction with the audience and is based on the concept of energy in motion, making the EDP Stage the centre of all the attention.

First up on the EDP Stage, to warm everybody up for Electra and generate audience interaction, will be D-Fresh: a medley of several music types known to all the festival-goers, which will be a kind of battle with several choreographies.

In addition to these performances, anyone passing through the brand's space can also take part in the exciting activities taking place there. Festival-goers will be able to participate in the various skating challenges taking place every day - the brand will have a skating rink full of energy - where they can show off their skating skills and qualify for a month's energy supply. A total of twelve months' energy supply will be allocated three times a day, throughout the four days of the festival.

This initiative is part of "Powered by imagination" - the communication design strategy developed by EDP for music and sports. This is the brand's motto, which challenges everyone attending the music events to put their imaginations to flight. This concept enhances the position of the brand in the field of music, which is already promoted as "the official energy of music".

It will be impossible to visit the EDP stand and not be immediately attracted by the excitement and infectious energy that will be felt there. In addition to the offer of months of energy supply and the opportunity to skate at a music festival, festival-goers will be able to make themselves up with glitter, customize mobile phone covers and t-shirts and even be eligible to win a hoverboard. On 2 August, this attraction will be even harder to resist. On that day, the musician Matias Damásio will be making an appearance on the stand, signing autographs and meeting some of his fans who will then have the opportunity to go to his concert on the main stage at 9.30 pm.

EDP promoters will be circulating around the venue with mobile phone charging backpacks to ensure that festival-goers stay connected and share their experiences at the brand's instagram account @edp.music.sports.

EDP continues to promote talent and national creativity.  This time, in partnership with IADE and the BOLD Creative Festival, it has launched a challenge for IADE students to create a piece of urban furniture for MEO Sudoeste. The result is the Bia Bench, a seat that encourages interaction and sharing among festival-goers and will be placed in the festival venue.

In this festival, the brand will adapt its presence and action to the audience and the beach and camping spirit that characterizes the venue. There will be an EDP bus to transport campers from the venue to the Zambujeira do Mar beach where sun hats and beach towels will be offered.
