EDP installs 3700 solar panels in Millennium bcp buildings
The Banco Millennium facilities at Tagus Park in Oeiras will save 16.3% of energy per year with this new solution
EDP installed 3703 photovoltaic solar panels in three buildings of Banco Millennium bcp in Tagus Park, Oeiras. The construction of this plant will allow production of about 1.3 GWh / year, which is equivalent to the energy needed to supply about 490 homes.
This new renewable energy production solution will enable Millennium bcp to save an estimated 16% on annual energy costs.
"A pioneer in the field of renewable energies and the leader in solar energy for customers in Portugal, EDP sees this partnership with Millennium bcp as a recognition of the excellence of its energy efficiency solutions. An area in which EDP will provide its full commitment for a more sustainable future, says Miguel Stilwell D'Andrade, Group Manager.
For his part, José Iglesias Soares, Executive Manager of Millennium bcp, states that Banco Millennium has been strengthening its commitment to Sustainability and Social and Environmental Responsibility over the years. This project, in partnership with EDP, contributes significantly to reducing the Millennium bcp ecological footprint, allowing a reduction of 572 tons of CO2 emissions annually.
At the corporate level, the energy company already has two 1MWp plants installed in the companies Tensai and Sirplaste, which now join the third plant on this scale, that of Millennium bcp.
This is another contribution by the EDP Group to solar photovoltaic energy in Portugal, where it is the market leader in solar home consumption with more than 12,000 photovoltaic solar systems installed in homes and companies throughout the country, totalling an installed power of 15 MWp.
