EDP Women's Race

EDP Women's Race took place on the past 22nd and 23rd of May and, for the first time, in virtual format.

In total, it counted with the participation of more than 4500 people and with the presence of several families from all over the world, who, running or walking, were virtually together for this cause.

This race aims to remind everyone about the importance of breast cancer screening and, at the same time, to honor women and promote physical exercise in the entire population.

IPO-Porto will receive € 1 for each registration

Preventing and helping in solidarity were the central ideas of this event, so, as is already traditional, part of the registration fee will be donated to IPO-Porto, for its fight against breast cancer. This year, EDP Women's Race raised € 4575 for this solidary cause.

Over the 14 editions, more than 260 thousand euros were raised with the participation of 225 thousand women in this initiative.

Participants from all over the world dressed in pink

One of the advantages of the virtual event is that each participant can run at any time and in any place, always respecting the health regulations of each location.

This year the invitation was extended to families and thousands of participants from 18 nationalities, from Portugal, Germany, Spain, France, Italy, Kingdom United, Hungary, Netherlands, Bulgaria, Romania, Slovakia, Poland, Brazil and the United States, New Zealand, Australia, Angola and Mozambique, faced the race running or walking the kilometers that they had defined for themselves
