Communicating with Energy

A program aimed at 9th grade students that intends to develop public communication skills in students.
Communicate with Energy is a program aimed at 9th grade students that intends to develop public communication skills in students.  It is designed and promoted by EDP employees, who are well-trained in communication skills and have the ability to work with young students.

This initiative helps students to improve their self-esteem, face their challenges, organize their ideas, enhance their team working skills, develop a critical and self-help spirit, as well as help their ability to give assertive and constructive feedback to colleagues.

In 2019, EDP Production developed and implemented a pilot project in partnership with the Faculty of Arts of the University of Porto, an innovative step for this project. This new Communicate with Energy format focuses on combining communication components with new audiovisual content that includes, in particular, the preparation and editing of a Youtube video. This format makes citizenship and environmental education themes more appealing and relevant for young people.

How does the program work?

As part of its social investment plan, EDP Production presents this and other programs to municipalities and schools. The schools where the program can be carried out are chosen on the basis of the interest shown by schools, and according to the number of EDP employees available to implement the program. Usually, it is possible to engage about 1 or 2 schools per term.
