  EDP is one of the new investors in the US-based startup Captura, in a 21.5 million dollars funding round.  Direct Ocean Capture allows captured CO2 to be permanently stored or transformed into low emission fuel, thereby assisting the most challenging sectors in decarbonization.

The first of the three tracks of the 8th edition of EDP's open innovation program is dedicated to Future Grids and startups can now apply until 24 September. The selected start-ups will have the opportunity to work with EDP specialists across the globe to co-develop pilot projects and deals.

Based in California, Terabase Energy has developed a technology that reduces the time and cost of building solar power plants through an integrated digital and automated platform. EDP Ventures was one of the investors in a €23 million funding round led by Fifth Wall.
