EDP challenges young people to create a new music festival
“Young Lisbon by EDP” marks a new step for the company in an area to which it has been increasingly committed. Ideas can be submitted by 31 August
EDP is challenging young people to put their imaginations to flight and create a music festival through sponsorship of the Lisbon International Advertising Festival, this year called "Young Lisbon by EDP".
Ideas must be submitted by 31 August and this year the focus is on brand activation in the area of music. This is, in fact, an important step for EDP - since 2007 the company has supported the music industry and has been a constant presence in this area for the last ten years.
Approaching a younger and more creative demographic and linking up with this strategic area are the action priorities for the launch of this initiative. In 2017, the logo of the initiative and sponsors of the brand in music and sport was Powered by imagination. And, for this reason, EDP is now inviting young people to design a bespoke festival for the brand: the concept, image, layout, venue, type of music and target audience.
Candidates will have to choose a name for the festival, create a concept and an image and reflect on EDP's brand activations and involvement. Ideas will be accepted from students and professionals in the areas of advertising, events and communications, aged 18-30. The challenge briefing is available at https://www.lisbonadfestival.com/young-lisbon.
EDP's sponsorship of this initiative is part of its national and international music and culture support strategy. EDP COOL JAZZ, NOS Alive, NOS Primavera Sound, Super Bock Super Rock, EDP Beach Party, MEO Sudoeste and EDP Vilar de Mouros are some of the major musical events with an EDP presence.
The Lisbon International Advertising Festival, as its name suggests, is an international advertising festival held in Lisbon. Now in its second year, this is the only advertising event of global significance taking place in Portugal. This year, it will be held on 21 September. The “Young Lisbon” competition targets young creatives.
