EDP offers a 20% discount on recharging electric cars
The recharging of electric cars in Portugal's network of stations reaches 600 MW of consumed energy. Partnership with Emov reinforces the group's positioning in smart mobility.
EDP is offering a 20% discount on electricity to encourage electric mobility, continuing its promotion strategy for this area, in which it is backing the launch of new solutions that contribute to the decarbonization of society and to the creation of more sustainable ecosystems.
With this new offer, EDP Comercial's customers with electric vehicles will receive a 20% discount on their home electricity consumption at night, as well as a 20% discount when they fill up at off-site loading stations.
The advertising campaign promoting this offer, in line with the new positioning of EDP Comercial, seeks to symbolize the future envisaged by the group: an electric and sustainable future, with EDP continuing to work towards solutions that anticipate the needs of customers. The campaign, which relies on the creativity of Solid Dogma, puts electric mobility at the center of these concerns.
The new offer is yet another step demonstrating EDP's commitment to this area, following the launch of solutions such as EDP Wallbox, purchased with a monthly subscription of €12,90, which incorporates the re:dy system to allow for more efficient management of consumption and greater control of contracted power. Also included in the portfolio of EDP's offers in this area is an app providing advice for future users of EV.X electric vehicles and EDP's partnership in the installation of 30 new stations at BP service stations. In the business sector, aids for the electrification of our customers' fleets are worth mentioning, which, in addition to providing a set of other solutions, also involve the creation of exclusive charging infrastructure. Also under development is technology that will solve the problem of recharging electric vehicles in condominiums, not only in terms of consumption, but also in the efficient management of recharging.
Today, EDP will take another step in promoting smart mobility with the announcement of a partnership with Emov, a car-sharing service with a fleet composed entirely of 100% electric vehicles. With this initiative, the group intends to continue the strategy it has adopted in this area promoting the electrification of transportation.
EDP has become a key player in promoting electric mobility not only in Portugal, but also in the other countries in which it is present. At a national level, it continues to focus on expanding its network of charging stations, which have already supplied more than 600MW of power through a total of more than 50,000 recharges made since 2017 his recharging has entailed the avoidance of around 500 tons of CO2. In Brazil, alongside BMW, EDP launched the largest electric corridor in Latin America, making it possible to travel by electric vehicle between Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo. Additionally, in Spain, it continues investments to expand its network currently made up of more than 80 stations.
