EDP is the world leader of Utilities on the Dow Jones Sustainability indices

EDP consolidates its leadership of the Dow Jones Sustainability indices and takes 1st place in the Utilities group

EDP was acknowledged today as the world's top company of the “Utilities: Electricity, Water and Gas” sector of the Dow Jones Sustainability indices, obtaining its highest ever score.

EDP is listed on the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index (DJSI World) and Dow Jones Sustainability Europe Index (DJSI Europe) for the 6th consecutive year. It has been the electricity sector leader three times and now it has achieved the top of the Utilities sector, with a score of 90 points.

This result is international recognition of performance excellence in the areas it has defined as a priority in its sustainable development strategy.

EDP remains one of the sector’s best companies in the Economic Dimension, just one point behind the leader. EDP achieved the maximum score (100) in the "Price Risk Management", "Risk & Crisis Management” and "Scorecards/Measurement Systems" criteria.

EDP achieved a 10 points gain on its 2012 score in the Environmental Dimension, obtaining the sector’s highest score. The scores in the Biodiversity and Electricity Generation criteria are to be noted.

EDP is also leader of the Utilities in the Social Dimension, achieving the maximum score in the Human Capital Development criteria.
