Let's Go Local

Back in April, EDP joined the Portugal #EntraEmCena movement - an unprecedented project that brings together artists, brands, and public and private companies in a collaborative effort to protect culture and its creators at this critical moment for the industry.

Let´s go local

We challenged Portuguese artists to reinvent the celebration of Portuguese traditional music.

EDP wants to support Portuguese musicians and help maintain traditional festivals during this critical period for Portuguese society and culture. To this end, the company has rolled out Let's Go Local, the latest challenge from the Portugal #EntraEmCena movement.

From Alentejo's 'cante' singing to folk music and folk culture, EDP has challenged Portuguese artists to present a creative concept for the celebration of traditional Portuguese music. Interested artists submitted their applications by sending videos of their performances and a description of the technical requirements for fulfilling their ideas.

The company received numerous applications and selected two bands that stood out for their talent and creative response to the challenge that had been presented. Os Burricos and Retimbrar are now preparing to perform live in the coming days.
