EDP is the best reputation brand of PSI 20

The classification was awarded by the OnStrategy consultant, that conducted a study on the most relevant and reputed brands in 2020. EDP Renewables was also the rate that grew the most in reputation.

EDP was classified as one of the Portuguese brands with the highest reputation and relevance, according to the assessment of the OnStrategy consultant. The study places the company in the leadership of PSI 20 companies, with a rating of 74.4 points, and also grants it the first position in the energy sector. EDP Renewables also stood out as the PSI 20 company with the highest growth in reputation levels, with a score increase of 9.6 points.


The OnStrategy study brings together reputational brand assessments, according to the levels of admiration, relevance, trust, preference and brand recommendation among Portuguese citizens. The information for the year 2020 is consolidated in the framework of the annual RepScore™ study, covering the entire period before and during the pandemic. In total, about 40 sectors of activity were analyzed.
This work is developed continuously throughout the year, and in accordance with the certification of ISO20671 (strategy and strength assessment) and ISO10668 (financial evaluation) standards, evaluating the attributes associated with notoriety, admiration, relevancy, trust, preference of choice and recommendations.


Onstrategy is the consultant who signs the Global RepScore™, and that has been evaluating, since 2009, the emotional and rational positioning and reputation, associated with more than 2,000 brands in Portugal. As Pedro Tavares, CEO of the consultant explains, "the year 2020 tested the relevance of brands and how they managed to adapt to a new reality of relating to their audiences." In addition, it reinforces, "in the pandemic scenario we live in, it is not strange that the sectors that have gained the most, even by their power of response, especially in services, are those of health and well-being, food retail, technology, energy and banking."


On a 100-point scale, this study also highlights two brands: Nestlé as the brand with the best reputation index and emotional relationship, with 84.7 points, and Zoom, as the brand that recorded the highest growth of this index in comparison with the pre-pandemic period with 76.8 points (16.4 more).
