Jaguar Land Rover and EDP Comercial team up to promote electric vehicles in Portugal
The partnership agreement aims to drive the adoption of electric mobility in Portugal, offering significant benefits to customers of the British automotive brand. This partnership comes as part of the companies' commitment to promoting electric mobility.
Jaguar Land Rover and EDP Comercial have partnered to drive the adoption of electric vehicles in Portugal, offering all customers who purchase an electric vehicle from the British brand the possibility of accessing several charging solutions – both inside and outside their homes – with unique conditions.
The prestigious British brand and Portugal's leading electric mobility company announced today that they will enter into a partnership which will allow both companies to take advantage of each other's knowledge and experience, and work together towards a common goal: to become key players in this market and lead the transition to electric mobility in the country.
This partnership also aims to improve the proximity of EDP Comercial's charging solutions, which means that all customers who purchase one of Jaguar's 100% electric cars will have a charging solution at their disposal – both indoors and outdoors - as well as all the information they need to charge their vehicle comfortably and safely.
As far as home charging is concerned, whether in individual or shared garages, Jaguar Land Rover and EDP Comercial will offer a charging solution suited to the vehicle's needs and the power available on site. As for outdoor charging, drivers will be able to use the EDP Electric Mobility card with a special tariff – an exclusive offer for customers of both brands. The EDP Electric Mobility card allows drivers to use the entire public charging network (MOBI.E), which is constantly growing and already has more than 1,000 charging points operated by EDP Comercial alone.
“This collaboration agreement is another step forward in Jaguar Land Rover's strong commitment to electric mobility. Jaguar Land Rover has already proved its world-class technical skills by creating hybrid plug-in models and the first high-end battery-powered SUV – the Jaguar I-Pace. And to adapt to new ways of understanding customers' future needs, the company has gone further with its 'Reimagine' global strategy, which aims to make all Jaguar and Land Rover nameplates available in pure electric form by 2030 – enabling us to become a net-zero carbon business by 2039", says Luis Antonio Ruíz, President and CEO of Jaguar Land Rover Spain and Portugal.
“Purchasing an electric vehicle is often the customer's entry into the electric mobility ecosystem. It is perfectly normal to have questions about the best charging equipment, the available tariffs, or what it takes to charge the vehicle on public roads. The purpose of this partnership is to make the customer's experience with Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles simple and distinctive, offering them the best solutions on the market, focusing on streamlined processes, and keeping the customer at the center of the solution," says EDP Comercial Director Pedro Vinagre.
This partnership between Jaguar Land Rover and EDP Comercial will continue to grow and offer integrated electric mobility solutions to address the increasingly demanding needs of electric vehicle users, in a constantly evolving industry.
